Our Story
UNITED BY THE GAME.
Born in Atlanta. Built on belonging.
Who We Are
More Than a Club.
Friends Play United (FPU) was founded in Atlanta, GA in 2018 with a simple but radical idea: that volleyball should be for everyone. We are an LGBTQ+-affirming, radically inclusive community where players of every background, identity, and skill level are not just welcomed — they're celebrated.
We compete at the highest levels in both NAGVA (North American Gay Volleyball Association) and USAV (USA Volleyball) tournaments, proving that inclusive spaces and elite competition aren't mutually exclusive. We show up, we show out, and we bring the whole community with us.
"We don't just play volleyball. We build community one set at a time."
— FPU Founding Member
